The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrimage Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara has been honoured

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrimage Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara has been honoured with an award of Dr. of Science of Public Administration Honourary Causa by the SALEM University, Kogi State. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Joseph Fuwape appreciated the Executive Secretary for accepting the Award. He disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

Mr. Joseph enjoined all Christian Leaders who would want to be in position of power to emulate the steps of Mr. John Kennedy Opara who has distinguished himself with his style of leadership.  According to him, “Christians should emulate your footsteps when they are in leadership position”.

He commended the Executive Secretary for the visible transformation he has brought to bear in the commission, adding that “he is a person worthy to be honoured”.

He stressed that SALEM University is a Christian faith based Institution committed to excellence and the empowerment of the less privileged Nigerians.

Mr. Opara in his response, thanked the SALEM University for honouring him with the award, According to him, “I want to say this is not a honour to me as a person but it is a honour to the Commission”.

He encouraged Christians to always touch lives anywhere they find themselves. In his words, “How happy you are is not dependent on how much money you make, but the number of lives you have affected”.

He Promised to always defend the faith of SALEM University, “I will do everything humanly possible to defend the faith because SALEM University is a faith based University”.
