NCPC TO SET UP MONITORING AND EVALUATION UNIT

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), John Kennedy

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), John Kennedy Opara has said that the Commission would set up a Monitoring and Evaluation Unit to measure and evaluate pilgrimage activities.  He disclosed this recently in Abuja during the Inauguration of Six Committees for the 2014 Christian Pilgrimage Exercise.

The Executive Secretary explained that the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit would use the goals and objectives of the Commission to checkmate the loop holes the Commission encounters during pilgrimage in order to continually improve on the Commission’s operations. In his words, “without measuring and evaluating we may not objectively know if we are doing better or worse”.

The Committees that were inaugurated includes: the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, the Airlift Committee, Federal Medical Committee, Sub Security Committee, Finance reconciliation and General Purpose Committee and the Counseling and Spiritual Committee. He tasked the members of the Committees to do everything humanly possible to add value and change to the Commission’s Pilgrimage activities, according to him, “change is key, because it is the beauty of life”.

The NCPC boss urged them to strive to attain new achievements in order to uplift the standard of the Commission. He added that the committee should map out ways that would make their activities hitch free and less stressful.

Mr. Opara further urged them to be transparent in all their dealings and at all times should rely solely on the wisdom of God “because with God all things are possible”.

The Chairman of the Airlift Committee who is also the Federal Commissioner representing South South on the NCPC board Rev. Mike Abrakata  responded on behalf of other members of the Committee. He thanked the Executive Secretary for the Opportunity given to them to serve. He assured him that the Committees would put in their best to attain great heights and would strive to work together as a team.
