NCPC BOSS REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO FIGHT CORRUPTION

The Executive Secretary of The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), John Kennedy Opara has reaffirmed the resolve of the Commission to fight corruption. Speaking through the Head of Administration of the Commission), Rev. Amos Yohanna during the sensitization of NCPC Staff by the Anti Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), he charged the Staff not to envy those who siphon public funds because, according to him, “they shall be disgraced”.

He took his text from the book of Psalm 37: 1-4 and urged the Staff of NCPC to always do what is right and always be delighted in the things of God “this will go a long way to help the  ACTU fight against corruption” .

The Chairman of the NCPC Anti Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), Mr. Joseph Akinsanya reassured that the Anti Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Commission would do everything humanly possible to fight corruption.

Mr. Akinsanya stressed that the meeting was organized to sensitize the staff of the Commission about the role of ACTU in the fight against corruption in the MDAs  

The resource person at the sensitisation meeting, Mr. Dio Emmanuel, who is the ACTU Desk Officer from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), x-rayed the core values of ACTU and explained that one of the major goals of ACTU is to correct the things that are wrong within the system of an Organization.

He urged the Staff of the Commission to shun corruption by reporting any corrupt practices in the Commission so that ACTU can investigate and take necessary actions.

The Assistant Director, Office of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Ifeoma Unachukwu in her good will message charged ACTU Executive members to always drive the goal of the Commission and ensure that anyone who is working against the accomplishment of these goals must be brought to book.

The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of NCPC ACTU roll up banner and complaint boxes by the representative of the Executive Secretary.
