The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) will be airlifting the last batch of intending pilgrims for the 2016 pilgrimage completion to Israel on 13th March, 2017 at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
It would be recalled that the flag off and the orientation of the 2016 pilgrimage completion was held at the Daughters of Abraham and Conference Centre (DRAAC) Lugbe, Abuja on 28th February, 2017. The second batch of pilgrims was also airlifted on 3rd March, 2017 from the Port Harcourt International Airport and Yola International Airport.
The Executive Secretary of NCPC Rev. Tor Uja during the flag off and orientation programme of the 2016 pilgrimage completion said that the Commission would no longer hold pilgrimage orientation programmes at Airport Halls, promising to create conducive environment for intending pilgrims where they can get proper orientation before they are airlifted.
During the ongoing 2016 pilgrimage completion exercise in Israel the Commission held a special prayer convocation on 5th March, 2017 at St. Peter’s Church in Gallingantu, Mount Zion, Jerusalem where prayers were offered for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari, for the well being of Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and for Nigeria.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal who was the Special Guest of Honour at the event also joined Nigeria Pilgrims in the prayer session.
So far, the 2016 pilgrimage completion exercise has been a hitch free one as the first batch of pilgrims returned to the country on 2nd March, 2017 safe, sound and rejuvenated.
The last batch of the 2016 pilgrimage completion is made up of about 300 pilgrims from Rivers, and Imo State.
The 2017 Easter Pilgrimage exercise to Israel will commence on 8th April and run through 30th April.
