CHARGE D' AFFAIRS NIGERIA EMBASSY TEL-AVIV, COMMENDS NCPC FOR A WELL ORGANISED 2015 PILGRIMAGE EXERCISE

The Charge d'Affairs, Embassy of Nigeria in Tel Aviv, Israel, Mrs. Frankie Obianagha has commended the management of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) on the excellent organization of the ongoing 2015 Christian pilgrimage.

Obianagha made this commendation during a courtesy visit of the NCPC team led by the Chairman, NCPC Board, Most. Rev. Nicholas Okoh with the Members of the National Assembly who were in Israel to perform their oversight function on 2015 Christian Pilgrimage. She described the visit as commendable and timely.

The Charge d'affairs highlighted the great innovation of the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Mr. Kennedy John Opara in Christian pilgrimage. "The pilgrimage activities of Nigeria in the State of Israel is now an eye opener to the Israelis and has put Nigeria in the lime light", Obianagha said.

She also used the opportunity to appeal to the members of the National Assembly to help look into the difficulty of passport issuance to Nigerian residents in Israel. Obianagha stated further, "This is a country that once your International passport expires, you will be automatically ejected from the system and that means such persons will not be able to do anything".

She further appealed to the members of the National Assembly to look into the development of the youth in Nigeria, especially in the areas of technological advancement in order to make Nigerian youths more productive and innovative.

On his part, the Executive Secretary, NCPC, Mr. John Kennedy Opara applauded the Embassy for their support over the years. "As a matter of fact, the support we enjoy from the Embassy here in Israel has always been helpful during the Christian pilgrimage exercises. “Pilgrimage will not be successful without a viable embassy", Opara said.

He stated further that Israel is a country rich in human knowledge, creativity and wisdom. He therefore urged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of creating wealth out of nothing.

The newly appointed Chairman, Nigeria - Israeli Cooperation Group and  member of the National Assembly who was also on the oversight visit on the 2015 Christian pilgrimage, Hon. Gwani Gideon, thanked the NCPC helmsman, Mr. John Kennedy Opara and his team for the good job they are doing in projecting the image of Nigeria positively through pilgrimage activities.

He commended the Charge d'Affairs, Mrs. Obianagha on her administrative skills and diplomatic sense of running the Nigeria Embassy in Israel without any cause for diplomatic row.

Hon. Gideon commended the Executive Secretary of NCPC for how he has transformed the face of Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria.

"Nigerians will be eternally grateful to you. I want to urge you to remain focused on the great job you are doing", he concluded.
