NCPC TARGETS 20,000 PILGRIMS THIS YEAR – REV. UJA

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja has said that the Commission would airlift about 20,000 intending pilgrims to the Holy Land this year during the October/December pilgrimage. He disclosed this over the weekend in Makurdi at a reception in his honour for his new appointment as the Executive Secretary of NCPC by strategic Think Tank group.

He explained that last year the Commission airlifted about 8,000 pilgrims to the Holy Land which he said would be improved upon this year.

Rev. Uja stressed the need for Christians who go on pilgrimage to come back spiritually and morally transformed. He emphasized that there must be clear evidence of participation in pilgrimage activities in Israel so that on return the pilgrims would be a shining light for others. He posited, “if our people go on pilgrimage what do they bring back”.

He averred that by his appointment with NCPC, he has submitted to the will of God.

The NCPC helmsman also affirmed that Christians should deepen their faith enough to present a clear picture of Christ. He stressed the need for Christians to be prayerful and at the same time spiritual.

In his remark at the occasion, the host, Dr Paul Ubwa, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Auto 360 Markudi, described the appointment of Rev. Uja as “special and divine”.

In his short exhortation, Rev. Thomas Shikaan said that Rev. Tor Uja “is an example that righteousness can answer for a man”. He stressed that most people carry great anointing, but are not consistent. He maintained that Rev. Uja has been consistent with the Lord for decades. In his words: “I am trusting that God’s grace for our leader will increase”.

Various speakers at the event, spoke positively about Rev. Tor Uja their leader. It was also said that “Rev. Uja is a kind of man who believes that things should be done perfectly”. Others said he is “a man who does not know failure, a versatile leader and a man of integrity”

One of the speakers said, “I cherish the administrative style of Rev. Tor Uja”, and that NCPC is a platform for him to speak about revival and missions”.

The strategic Think Tank is a group of Christians who fashion out developmental plans for the Church and government in order to move the society forward.

The high light of the occasion was a special prayer for the NCPC boss and his wife by ministers of God.
