EKITI STATE CPWB TO BE CONSTITUTED AS NCPC BOSS VISITS GOV. FAYOSE ON SENSITISATION DRIVE

The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose has promised to urgently re-constitute the Board of the state Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board.

The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose has promised to urgently re-constitute the Board of the state Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board. He made the disclosure in Ado Ekiti while playing host to the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, mr John Kennedy Opara and his management team who where in the state on a sensitization drive.

The Governor assured the NCPC boss that he would constitute the state CPWB without delay, even when the boards of other parastatals were yet to be constituted.

He described Mr. Opara as a productive and resourceful person who had made a meaning out of NCPC. According to him,''you have set a standard in NCPC which will be difficult for anyone to surpass''. He further affirmed "God will continue to bless you because your faithfulness and loyalty will continue to speak for you". He further described him as an "Executive Secretary with a difference".

He assured Mr. Opara that he would join the commission to participate in the 2015 edition of "A day with Jesus" for Nigerians in Israel come 25th October, so that he would be able to pray and thank God for all His mercies.

Earlier, the NCPC boss commended the Governor for his developmental strides in Ekiti state. He described him as a man of passion and tenacity of purpose whom God is using  to liberate the people of Ekiti state.

Mr. Opara informed the Governor that he was in the state to sensitize him and all the Christians about the benefits of embarking on Holy pilgrimage. He therefore stated that the commission was using pilgrimage as a tool for spiritual and moral transformation. He equally hinted that the skill acquisition scheme of the commission is in conjunction with the Israeli government who have been very supportive.

He also disclosed that the commission runs four pilgrimage programmes in one calender year. He stressed the need for the government to partner with the commission especially in the area of skill acquisition which is imbedded in all the pilgrimage programmes of the commission.

Mr. Opara stated that the commission is working with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and well meaning Nigerians in order to encourage them to sponsor Christians who are spiritually rich, but materially poor on Holy pilgrimage.

The NCPC helmsman also told the Governor that the commission would introduce the christian pilgrimage lottery scheme this year during the October/ December pilgrimage exercise. He added that the essence of the lottery scheme is to enable many Christians to participate and benefit from the spiritual exercise.

He urged the Governor to see the need to join other well meaning Nigerians to participate in this year's " A day with Jesus" for Nigerians in Israel.
