The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr. Yakubu Pam has said that the Commission is set to put in place policies that would regulate the activities of Christian Tour Practitioners Association of Nigeria CTPAN as well as the States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards. He made this known during a meeting with the Christian Tour Practitioners Association of Nigeria CTPAN, at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Lagos on 13th October, 2022.

He intimated that this policies were put in place in order to ensure a hitch free pilgrimage exercise to the holy land, adding that the Commission is doing everything possible to curb abscondment of pilgrims.

Rev. Pam urged the CTPAN to work with NCPC to bring abscondment to an end. In his words, "By November the country of Israel will be approving a Nigeria airline to airlift pilgrims on a direct flight to Israel, this will help us regulate the movement of our pilgrims which is our mandate by the ACT that established NCPC and to reduce the travel hours to Israel because it is a direct flight".

The NCPC helmsman explained that the NCPC would only procure visas for intending pilgrims who have duly been screened by the Commission. According to him, "Screening for us has become necessary because that is the only way we eradicate abscondment".

The No 1 Christian Pilgrim Officer of the Federation informed that the Commission would be going on pilgrimage to Rome and Israel on 16th October, 2022, with top government officials from Nigeria led by the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha. In his words, "This is a special pilgrimage which will foster bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel"

Speaking earlier, the President of the Christian Tour Practitioners Association of CTPAN, Rev. Dr. Israel Kristilere commended the NCPC boss for all the innovations he has brought to bear in the Commission and Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria.

He thanked Rev Pam for granting them the audience to deliberate on issues as regards their association and Christian pilgrimage at large.
