NCPC FLAGS OFF SCREENING EXERCISE FOR INTENDING PILGRIMS FOR 2025 MAIN PILGRIMAGE EXERCISE TO ISRAEL AND JORDAN

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC has flagged off the screening exercise for intending Christian Pilgrims for the 2025 Main pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan.

In his remark at the screening exercise held in Ikeja Lagos on 27th November, 2025 for the intending pilgrims of Lagos State, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission Bishop Prof Stephen Adegbite assured the intending pilgrims that there is peace in Israel and that they would be safe while performing holy Pilgrimage in Israel.
He emphasized that the essence of the medical screening was to ascertain the heath status of the intending pilgrims.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu has shown great support for pilgrimage both Christian and Muslim Pilgrimages more than any other President in the history of this nation. Thus he urged them to continue to pray for the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda of this administration.

The NCPC boss reaffirmed that the Commission would continue to work towards achieving zero abscondment of Pilgrims during Pilgrimage as it has zero tolerance for abscondment.
He explained that all mechanism has been put in place to bring abscondment to zero level.
Speaking at the event, the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr Omoniyi Okudero stressed the importance of the medical and physical screening which was meant to prepare them for the holy Pilgrimage and it is part of the activities preceding the airlift of intending pilgrims to Israel and Jordan.

Dr Okudero stressed that the screening exercise was in collaboration with the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission and other relevant security and government agencies involve in verifying travel documents.

He said the administrative part of the screening exercise was designed to validate the travel documents of the
intending pilgrims and to enlighten them on expectations during the pilgrimage.

Okudero stated that the screening exercise would assist the medical team to take along appropriate medications that would meet the medical needs of the intending pilgrims.

He enjoined the intending pilgrims to follow all the laid down guidelines and laws of the holy lands while being good ambassadors of Lagos State and Nigeria.
