NCPC BOSS COMMENDS THE FCT MINISTER ON PILGRIMAGE

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja has commended the FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello for being part of the success story of Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria.

He disclosed this in his office in Abuja while playing host to the management team of the FCT Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office. The NCPC boss particularly recalled how the Honourable Minister then as the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) accommodated NCPC for two years in their office complex. He described FCT as a privileged group in Nigeria and the heartbeat of the nation.

The NCPC boss further stated that the FCT Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board has the greatest advantage to key into NCPC programmes on account of the fact that the Commission’s corporate headquarters is in the FCT.

He charged the management of FCT CPWB to set standards and establish an agenda for other states CPWBs to follow.

Rev. Uja informed that the commission presently has six zonal office structures in the six geo-political zones of the country. He promised to set up a special zone for FCT for easy coordination of Christian pilgrimage.

He further charged them to set a bigger agenda for Christian pilgrimage this year by generating 20% of the 20,000 expected pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage.

He called on the state governments to provide support for Christian pilgrimages despite their economic challenges. He affirmed that in a few years from now, Nigeria will replicate the same level of transformation in Israel.

The Executive Secretary also advocated for training in the area of mobilization and diplomacy in order to help the pilgrimage leaders and managers to be able to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

Rev. Uja thanked the Director FCT CPWB for visiting him with a strong delegation which comprised the critical mass of his management team.

Earlier, the Director FCT CPWB said he was in NCPC with his team to assure the Executive Secretary of their unalloyed support to his administration. His words: “we are here to assure you that we are your backbone”, as they are first of all the states.

He informed that the Hon. Minister of FCT, Mohammed Bello whom he described as very liberal cherishes his leadership and his stay in the FCT.

The chairman prayed that the Lord would take the NCPC boss to a new dimension of leadership, especially as he strategizes on how to inject spirituality into Christian pilgrimage programme.

He considered his Board privileged to have the headquarters of NCPC domiciled in Abuja which affords them easy and unhindered access to information concerning pilgrimage.
