The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja has called on all the stakeholders in Nigeria to support the media.
He disclosed this in Abuja during a courtesy call on him by the Leadership Group, Publishers of Leadership Newspaper. According to him: “with a little more attention the Nigerian Press will be encouraged and energized”.
Rev. Uja commended the Nigeria Press for the Very erudite and courageous role they have been playing in sustaining democracy. His words: “I believe that the Nigerian Press is one of the best in the world”.
He commended the Leadership Newspaper for having the best layout in all the newspapers in Nigeria.
He called on women Journalists in Nigeria to rise up to the occasion in the practice of Journalism without compromising their status.
He affirmed that the Commission would reshape Nigeria and that the visit of the Leadership group was an eye opener as NCPC would partner with them.
Rev. Uja further stated: “we will work with the press to ensure they participate in pilgrimage and also report our pilgrimage activities”.
Earlier, the Group Managing Director of Leadership Group, Dr. Cletus Akwaya said they were in NCPC as a delegation from Leadership Group to congratulate him on his recent national assignment.
Dr. Awaya further stated that considering the pedigree of Rev. Uja as a consummate Public servant, a seasoned Journalist, leader of the Lord’s flock who superintended the Pentecostal movement both in the state and National level.
The GMD informed his host that they were in NCPC to partner with him in the pursuit of his assignment. His words: “I can attest to the importance of this Commission in terms of projecting the image of this country”. He added “you can rely on us to deliver your messages, I assure you of our cooperation and support”.
He invited the NCPC boss to grace the flagship of Editors’ Interview Round Table segment of the Newspaper.
