DG NTA COMMENDS NCPC FOR THE INTRODUTION OF SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAMME FOR PILGRIMS

The Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Sola Omole, has commended the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission for the introduction of skill acquisition Programme for Pilgrims. He made this commendation during a courtesy visit by the Executive secretary of NCPC, Mr. John Kennedy opara and his Management team to the NTA Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

He emphasized that the skill acquisition programme would help the youths to learn and find a means of survival. His words “The addition of the skill acquisition programme is a brilliant idea.”

The DG NTA thanked the NCPC Boss for his visit and congratulated him for his tremendous achievements in the Commission.

Mr. Omole expressed that NCPC plays a major role in the nation. In his words; “Nigeria is a house of prayer, we only survive by prayer and the NCPC plays a major role in that.”

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, thanked the NTA DG for the values he and his team have added to NCPC and commended him for how he has brought in his wealth of experience to bear in the organization. According to him, “For a leader who knows where he is going, the journey is always shorter.” 

Mr. Opara Informed his host that NCPC has the mandate of bringing people closer to God and the youths must not be left out.’ Using psalm 11:3 as a reference point, he quoted “if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? ”

He explained that the introduction of youth pilgrimage would serve as a tool to touch the lives of Nigeria youths and the skill acquisition training would further empower them. He explained further that Israel runs one of the best skillful trainings in agriculture which are of great benefits to their youths. According to him, ‘this is a way of bringing such skills to Nigeria.’

He informed the NTA boss that the Commission intends to introduce a half hour Christian Pilgrimage programme on NTA, hence he solicited the cooperation of the DG to bring this to reality.

The Executive Secretary used the opportunity availed by the courtesy call to inform his host about other pilgrimage packages: Easter pilgrimage March –April, Family pilgrimage usually held between August – September, and general pilgrimage which comes up between October- December.
