A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tope Olayonu has saidthat pilgrimage provides great opportunity for pilgrims to come closer to God and also a platform to pray for peace, progress and unity of the country.
The Legislator disclosed this in Israel at the ongoing2015 Christian pilgrimage exercise. He explained that there are lots of experiences Nigerians can learn from Israel as a nation such as its rich agricultural development.
He further spoke on the spiritualcontent of pilgrimage which he described as great. According to the Honourable member who represents Ifeledun /Offa/Oyun Federal
Constituency of Kwara State in the House, said "you will be blessed spiritually and physically after the completion of every pilgrimage exercise".
He stated that the National Assembly would encourageLegislation that would support self-sponsorship and government sponsorship of Pilgrims to the Holy Land.
Hon. Olayonu commended theeffective organization put in place in Israel by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission which made the exercise spiritually
fulfilling and impactful. His words: "NCPC organization of pilgrimage in Israel is perfect".
