NCPC TO PARTNER WITH CHURCHES ON CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE LOTTERY SCHEME

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara has said that the Commission would partner with churches in the Christian Lottery Scheme which the Commission would introduce during the 2015 Oct/Dec pilgrimage exercise. He made this known during a courtesy visit by the Executive Members of the Organization of African Instituted Churches at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The NCPC Boss said that Christian Pilgrimage Lottery Scheme would afford Christians who cannot sponsor themselves to the Holy Land the opportunity to participate in the pilgrimage exercise. According to him, “the era of government sponsorship is over”.

He further explained that tickets would be sold to Christians and the lucky ones would be selected to travel to the Holy Land.

Mr. Opara stressed that the Commission would ensure transparency in the selection process to ensure that Christians who are spiritually rich but materially poor benefits from the scheme.

Earlier, the President of the Organization, M.C Osamor thanked the Executive Secretary and his team for their warm reception. He commended the NCPC boss for his visible contributions in the Christian Community in Nigeria, in his words “the examples you have laid down for Christians in this country is monumental and we want to identify with you”.

He affirmed that pilgrimage has helped to fortify the faith of many Christians in Nigeria and encourage the Commission not to relent in their good works. He prayed that God would continue to use NCPC positively to affect the church of God in Nigeria.
