The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja, has disclosed that the flag off of 2016 Youth/Family pilgrimage to Israel would take place on 27th August, 2016 at the Pilgrims’ Terminal, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The NCPC boss also informed that the processing of all visa applications for the August pilgrimage would end on 8th August, while the closing date for receiving of applications from intending Pilgrims would also end on the 8th of August.
Rev. Tor Uja advised all intending Pilgrims to step up efforts in their application processes so as to meet up with the guidelines and deadline set by the commission.
He stressed the importance of the Youth and Family Pilgrimage to the young ones and families. He said: “the young ones need Jesus now thus going to the land of the Bible will expose them to the fact that the Bible is real”.
Aside the spiritual benefits, he said the youths would be meaningfully engaged and be able to live a productive life without having to depend on government for employment and livelihood after being exposed to the skill acquisition programme of the Commission. He added, “Youth pilgrimage will empower our young ones by exposing them to the rich agricultural opportunities in Israel and on return replicate same in Nigeria”.
For the Family pilgrimage, the NCPC helmsman affirmed that families that pray together stay together. According to him, “this pilgrimage platform encourages family values as the bedrock for a stable and healthy family life”. He posited that if the home is built on Christ, then the nation would experience peace and progress.
The NCPC boss assured all intending pilgrims that the commission and the Ground handlers in Israel would do everything possible to ensure that this year’s edition of Youth/Family pilgrimage would be a hitch free exercise.
This year’s Youth pilgrimage will be the second edition while it will be the fourth for the Family pilgrimage.
