The last batch of Nigerian Christian pilgrims to Israel for the 2013 Christian pilgrimage had arrived in the country.

The 377 pilgrims from different parts of the country arrived in the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on the evening of Friday, 3rd December 2014.

Welcoming the pilgrims, the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, urged them to replicate in Nigeria all the positive lessons from the Holy Land. She equally urged them to always pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Nigeria.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Mr. John Kennedy Opara, said the return of the pilgrims marked the conclusion of the 2013 pilgrimage operations.

He urged the pilgrims to be agents of change so that they could contribute meaningfully to the transformation agenda of the government.

He commended the pilgrims for their exemplary conduct during the pilgrimage and urged them to practice the lessons learned from the Holy land.

Mr. Opara said the 2013 exercise, in which more than 15,000 pilgrims participated, was a success judging by the high moral and spiritual standards exhibited by the pilgrims.
