Executive Secretary Profile
Rev. Yakubu Pam was appointed the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission on 4th July, 2020 by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
NCPC is a National Regulatory body for Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria, the only apex Christian pilgrimage Agency that has direct link with the Presidency.
His appointment took effect from 26th June, 2020 but he formally assumed office at the corporate headquarters of NCPC on 7th July, 2020.
This quintessential leader, reconciliator par excellence, Teacher, consummate administrator, advocate for peace, a detribalized Nigeria and above all, a leader in the vineyard of God has come to NCPC at a time divinely ordained by God.
Rev. Yakubu Pam was born on 20th February, 1960 at Gyel, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. He is of Berom extraction.
He attended Gyel Local School Board (LSB) between 1972 to 1979, Government Teacher’s College, Zawan, Plateau State from 1981 to 1986. He later proceeded to the Northern Nigeria Bible School, Saminaka, Kaduna State for his Diploma in Theology between 1988 to 1991. In 2002, Rev. Pam further continued to pursue the Golden Fleece by enrolling into the Evangel Theological Seminary, Jos for his Degree in Christian Education which he obtained in 2004.
Over the years, Rev. Pam has garnered quite intimidating and rich wealth of work experience and responsibilities. In 1987, he was a PTA teacher with the Local Primary School at Tachei, Gyel, Jos and has been a church Pastor with Assemblies of God, Nigeria from 1988 to date. His responsibilities in the church includes – Sectional Leader, District Coordinator, Sunday school and District Superintendent Jos Mainland of the church in Plateau State.
In 2003, Rev. Pam was elected the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Plateau State Chapter which he held sway till 2006.
In the same vein, in 2008, Rev. Pam was also elected the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN North Central Zone which comprises Plateau State, Nasarawa State, Benue State, Niger State, Kogi State, Kwara State and FCT. He served as the CAN chairman North Central till 2015.
Until his appointed as the third substantive Executive Secretary of the NCPC, Rev. Pam held sway as the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for the 19 Northern States and Abuja, having been elected into the position since 2016. He is equally a member of the President in Council of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
This man of humble and calm disposition, was also elected the National Vice President Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for North Central from 2013 to date.
Furthermore, in 2009, Rev. Pam became the President/Founder and CEO of the Young Ambassadors for Community Peace and Inter-Faith Foundation.
In 2010 Rev. Yakubu Pam was appointed the District Superintendent Jos Mainland Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, a position which he still occupies prior to his appointed as the NCPC boss.
The Executive Secretary of NCPC has been a member of the United Nations Youth Assembly New York, USA from 2007 to date.
Rev. Pam by the grace of God has held a number of strategic appointments in Plateau State, he was appointed the chairman, Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board in 2018, member, Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Council, member Plateau State Education Board from 2004 to 2006 and member, Plateau State Tsunami Fund Raising Committee from 2004 to 2005.
The NCPC boss is a member of the following revered bodies – Arewa Elders Forum and Zumunta International, USA.
Rev. Yakubu Pam by the special grace of God, has special predilection for travelling. Thus he has traversed the length and breadth of this earth for one reason or the other. He had visited the State of Israel, United States of America, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya and Netherlands, to mention but a few.
Rev. Pam is a preacher of the Gospel and Teacher by training. He is equally a writer, having co-authored a book, “Fighters of Peace”. He has been an ordained minister of God for over three decades.
He is happily married to only one wife, Pastor (Mrs) Lucy Pam and the union is blessed with four lovely children.
